Med Techs
Our med techs perform the most advanced procedures. They perform medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments and analyses to provide data to physicians for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. Many participate in clinical trials, new test method development, interdisciplinary quality teams and shared leadership.
Med techs can work in many specialties at Baylor, including:

Lab Techs
Lab techs draw blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients for important tests that are used to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases. They also perform routine laboratory duties, including setting up specimens, conducting simple lab tests and analyzing samples.
Phlebotomists
Our phlebotomists work with inpatients and outpatients in a fast-paced environment to draw blood using venipuncture and/or capillary techniques. They process samples and use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to label and enter specimens received. They also share knowledge and expertise with caregivers.
